Redmi K80 Pro to Boast 2K Display and 50MP Telephoto Camera, According to Tipster

Rumors are swirling about the impending launch of the Redmi K70 Ultra smartphone this month, with the Redmi K80 series expected to follow in China. The latest buzz comes from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, who has corroborated earlier reports that the Redmi K80 Pro will feature a 50MP 3x telephoto lens and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

In addition to the telephoto lens, Digital Chat Station has revealed that the K80 Pro will sport a 2K flat display and be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. The tipster has also previously mentioned that the phone will come with a 5500mAh battery and support 120W charging.

The Redmi K80 Pro will be accompanied by its standard sibling, the K80, which is rumored to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Both models are expected to feature a flat OLED screen with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. While the K80 Pro is likely to have a telephoto camera similar to the K70 Pro, it remains unclear whether the standard K80 will also include this feature.

According to another leaker, both the K80 Pro and K80 will showcase a new design on the back, featuring a new glass material.

It’s worth noting that a report last month suggested that there won’t be a Redmi K80E, the successor to the Redmi K70E, this year. Xiaomi is reportedly shifting the Redmi K-series’ focus to more premium devices.

As for the launch, the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to be the first from the company to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, with a rumored launch in October. The Redmi K80 series is anticipated to follow suit, with a launch expected sometime in November.
