Moto Tag: A Smarter Way to Track Your Belongings with UWB and Google Find My Device

Motorola has stepped into the smart tracker arena with its new Moto Tag, a direct competitor to Apple’s AirTags for Android users. Leveraging Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology and integration with Google’s Find My Device network, the Moto Tag offers enhanced precision and privacy for locating your valuables.
Precision Tracking with UWB
The Moto Tag stands out with its support for UWB technology, allowing compatible smartphones like the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra to pinpoint tagged items with exceptional accuracy. While the integration with Google Find My Device isn’t available yet, a future update promises seamless tracking within Google’s ecosystem.
Intuitive Design and Enhanced Privacy
Similar to the AirTag, the Moto Tag features a circular design with a multifunctional button for remotely ringing a paired smartphone and even taking pictures. Motorola prioritizes user privacy with end-to-end encryption on the Google Find My Device network, ensuring your location data remains secure. Additionally, the Moto Tag alerts users about unknown trackers and allows for manual scans for added security.
Durability and Convenience
With an IP67 rating, the Moto Tag is built to withstand water and dust, making it suitable for outdoor use. The Google Fast Pair feature simplifies the setup process, and the dedicated Moto Tag app provides battery monitoring and alert volume adjustments. Motorola claims a year-long battery life on a single CR2032 coin cell, which is conveniently replaceable.
Availability and Pricing
The Moto Tag is set to launch in select markets on August 2nd, 2024, with a price of $29 for a single tracker and $99 for a pack of four. It will be available in Blue and Green color options.
A Worthy Android Alternative
The Moto Tag offers a compelling alternative to Apple AirTags for Android users, bringing together UWB precision, Google Find My Device integration, and a focus on privacy and security. With its affordable price and user-friendly features, the Moto Tag is poised to become a popular choice for those seeking a reliable and efficient way to track their belongings.
